It seems that fewer and fewer people these days seem to remember... that not so long ago, Montana was known not as
"Big Sky Country", but rather THE TREASURE STATE.

THE TREASURE STATE got this first motto as it's namesake suggests; by having 'treasure,' a point which is further evident in the
state flag, which bears the slogan "ORO -y- PLATA" or Gold & Silver.

Unlike other Western States, which seem to pride themselves in the rich and colorful history of the Gold & Silver Mining Era,
Montana, with exception only to Butte, seems to have forgotten this noteworthy page in history. Many of the once great Mining
commercial districts and railroad centers have all but vanished... left in ruin and haunted by echos of dreams lost in the mountain
winds. Their populations mere ghosts of an Era of Industry, when Gold, Silver, and Copper were lifeblood, and Railroad was
salvation.

Today, thru neglect, vandalism, arson, and unauthorized dismantling. Little remains of Montana's Mining Heritage. Townsites,
prospect camps, and trade hubs, have all but been wiped from our collective high-tech memories. Ghost towns serve as a vital
connection for each of us, to this amazing, forgotten Golden Age of Industry.

Journey with us, back to this Great Forgotten Era. One that saw the inception of electricity, thru the visionary dreams of legends
like Nikola Tesla & George Westinghouse; of Marcus Daly, the Copper King. The Era of Cattle Barons; John Bozeman, Nelson
Storey, and Peter Koch - all empires which built the Treasure State... this jewel in the rough beneath a Big Sky, this treasure
called MONTANA.
